If you are having problems with Guitar Pro starting or crashing soon after startup, try switching to Adwaita theme. I'm using Manjaro Openbox, but I believe it's some GTK problem, so feel free to try this on other systems too :) I got my problems solved by using the linux version (not the demo) and modifying PKGBUILD to use that. Using this CARCH magic breaks the AUR RPC interface : https:// : https://github.com/rmarquis/pacaur/issues/363#issuecomment-140840317 I had the same issue as apaatsio and followed alex.m comment. md5sums=('3de3b59151b33965a92cd4f51162aeee' 'e66ee85eccfa5e5d0aabedcd13c6c8b4' '8d7331135369f0dc131c4a95f034c4b7') Note that this downloads the full version (not the demo/trial).I assume you use JACK (see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/JACK_Audio_Connection_Kit) because of the 0 error...I've also made a modified version of the PKGBUILD with the current version (r11621) of Guitar Pro 6.Every time I start it running and an error dialogue comes up saying: "gp build with Qt: 4.6.3 run with Qt: 4.6.2" and then a terminal error saying "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" I've got no idea what to do [email protected]: I have the same problem in my 64bit Arch, the solution that I found is install the soundbanks in a Windows system, then copy the installed files to the Guitar Pro directory in Linux.
Running with sudo solves the problem but this is far from ideal solution.I also manually added some symbolic links for libssl and libcrypto.Actually, 1.0.0 versions works with the Guitar pro version, 0.9.8 not need then.As mentioned by other posters, I changed "binutils-multilib" to "binutils" and added "gksu" to the "depends" array. Also created a new tarball, which can be downloaded from the following URL: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/sh/29kr9dvw7gnmojk/AADjibd FNAOHa Vs1Sj7c2zz Ta/guitar-pro-11621-1Experience with version r11621: Installs fine, execution is no problem.
